This unique button up shirt has been produced through a process called botanical dyeing, or eco printing. Natural leaves are pressed onto the pure silk, cotton or linen shirts, rolled on a pipe and steamed for several hours. The heat causes the tannins in the leaves to release and this creates a permanent, colorfast, print on the fabric. We thrift the shirts, in new or like-new condition and breathe an entirely new life into them.
This particular shirt is technically fit for men, though we have many female customers who wear and love them just the same! This shirt features eucalyptus leaves on a 100% silk shirt.
It is a men's size XL. Laid flat, across the back, the measurements are as follows:
21.5" shoulder to shoulder
23.5" armpit to armpit
29" from collar to hem
These botanical printed shirts make thoughtful heirloom gifts and will arrive beautifully wrapped with a card for washing instructions and information about the artist and how the piece is made. These shirts ship for FREE with priority mail in the United States.
This piece can be hand washed or machine washed (delicate cycle) in regular laundry detergent (we do NOT recommend Woolite), rinsed well and hung to dry, or dried on low in a dryer. Iron if needed.
Sharon Mansfield is the co-owner of our store, The Tin Thimble, and has been perfecting botanical dyeing for over a decade now. These exquisite table runners are made by her in her Northern California studio. You can learn more about Sharon and her book "Lasting Impressions" at www.sharonmansfield.com
**All computer monitors display color differently. I have tried to get as close as possible to the true color of the fabric but please keep this in mind when placing your order.
